Sherrie Plant, Operations Manager
The Camellia House Trust is governed by a board of members from various backgrounds with various different skill sets.
Sherrie has been the Operations Manager since January 2020. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Camellia House. This includes staff management, accounts, funding, allocating and coordinating work, communicating objectives and providing direction, support, supervision and encouragement.
Tania Garrett, Chairperson
Tania has been involved with Camellia house since 2019 and became the Chair of the board in 2020 following Aleisha stepping down for the role. Tania has worked in the not for profit sector for 25 years and is currently the General Manager Operations for Sport Manawatu.
Aleisha has been on the board of Camellia house since 2014 and was the chairperson from 2015-2020. She loves being a part of an organisation that makes a difference in our community. Aleisha's background is in Youth Work and Local Government. She is currently the Deputy Mayor of Palmerston North.
Sarah Reichardt, Secretary
Sarah joined the Camellia House board in 2019 and has loved being able to make a difference in the community. She is based in Feilding and spends her time running her marketing business, Thrive Media.
Scott Haumaha, Treasurer
Scott works with people, families and organisations as a financial adviser and Chartered Accountant. As Treasurer of Camellia House he oversees and assists with the financial operations of the Trust.
Danielle joined the board of Camellia House in May 2021. She believes this role is a privilege that enables young women and their families to gain the independence they deserve while providing them with a safe and secure learning environment. Danielle is the marketing and communications manager for the Palmerston North Airport and is also on the board of Sport Manawatu.
Jill is currently the Facilities and Finance Manager at Ruahine Kindergarten Association (RKA). Prior to this role, Jill was an Early Childhood Teacher and Head Teacher for RKA. Her background in teaching, working with a range of people across the community, finance acumen and facilities knowledge are skills that Jill brings to the Camellia House Board.
Niki has an extensive background in personal coaching and is currently a Career and Transition Coach with the New Zealand Defence Force. She spent 20 years working in her own business including contracts with BNI New Zealand and New Zealand Rugby Players Association after a background in education. This is her second stint on the Camellia House Board starting in 2020 and she is passionate making a difference. Niki is a mother of 5, and now a grandmother to 3.
Shannon has been involved with Camellia House since 2019. She is a partner at CR Law, with the firm having had a strong association with Camellia House for a number of years. As a mother of three girls, Shannon loves being able to make a difference by assisting an organisation aimed at helping women and children in our local community.
I am currently a Registered Social Worker, based in the Manawatu. Within my role, I support and enable individuals, couples and families to live a life where they feel empowered with autonomy and respect. Within my role, I have seen the positive support and outcomes that Camellia House provides for those that come through its service. I feel privileged to be able to use my skills and knowledge to support Camelia House as a member on the Board.
Lizzie Tollemache is new to the board, and a recent arrival to Palmerston North after moving here to take up the role as Associate Director at Centrepoint Theatre. Previously she has been a sideshow stuntwoman, theatre maker and the Creative Director of Rollicking Entertainment Ltd. Lizzie is a huge believer in basic kindness, and the mark of a society being how it treats those who are struggling.
Maree joined the Board for Camellia House in May 2021. Maree has a background in Banking, Finance and Customer Service. As a mother of four girls, Maree loves giving back to the local community and helping to make a difference in people’s lives. Maree is also on the Board for Zonta Manawatu.
